Get paid to recycle

It has been far too long since I blogged, but I couldn't pass up a chance to help you get some cash. Xcel energy pay you $50 if you recycle your energy sucking 2nd fridge. Check out the details here. Have a great day!

Hi, Dan,

In the July issue of Park News, you said that the annual free pickup day for bulky items, etc., would be this fall, but that the areas included in the pickup weren't yet decided. Has that been determined now? And is it on the City's website somewhere? I didn't see it. Thanks! - Erin

Hi Erin,

The Bulky Waste Curbside Collection will be in late September in the western part of the City (West Voting District). We are still finalizing the date, but it will be either Sept. 22 or Sept 29. I will do a new post with more information and a link to the collection map. The map should will also be on the city website later today.

Hi Dan,
Can we recycle potato chip and coffee bags as plastic bags.?

We can't recycle this type of plastic yet, but we are working to find more plastic recycling options all the time. If we find some options I will put it in our city newsletter. Thanks for recycling!
